Associate Professor/English Program Coordinator
Dr. Boon teaches creative writing, film, American literature, literary theory, and business writing at Penn State Mont Alto. He is primarily an Americanist, with published scholarship on writers such as Kurt Vonnegut, Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, David Mamet and Chuck Palahniuk, but he has also published on British authors such as Virgina Woolf and George Orwell. His focus is on science (especially the atomic bomb's influence on literature), popular culture, and gender. His most recent work is on the American screenplay, which aligns with his lasting interest in film. Dr. Boon has also published and won minor recognition for his fiction and poetry, and he has had plays and screenplays produced.
