Continuing Education for Physical Therapy Clinical Instructors and Clinical Coordinators of Education(CCCE)

Penn State Mont Alto will offer "What would YOU do?  Ethics in Physical Therapy practice" on May 3, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (check-in at 9:00 a.m.).  Completion of the course will provide two contact hours of ethics/law as required for PT/PTA license renewal. Please refer to the detailed flyer and registration form (link below) or contact Anne Hill at arh15@psu.edu with any questions regarding the program or registration.

PMP® Project Management Professional

The Project Management Professional (PMP®) Exam Preparation course is designed for professionals who are experienced in project management or who have taken courses such as those in Penn State's Project Management Certificate Program. This course covers all "knowledge areas" and "process areas" of the Project Management Institute's (PMI) Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide). It offers a review of the material normally covered in the exam, sample questions, and instruction on how best to prepare and study for taking the exam. This course does not count towards the CEUs needed to maintain or obtain your PMP®.

Note regarding 2012-2013 updates to PMBOK:  The Project Management Institute's (PMI)® Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) was updated and the fifth edition released on December 31, 2012.

The test is scheduled to change to reflect the new PMBOK® Guide on July 31, 2013. We will offer a revised test preparation course some time later in the fall that conforms to the fifth edition.

APICS CPIM Module Outlines

Module 1: OPMGT 5090C BASICS OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT (BSM)
44 hours of instruction
Learn the basic concepts in managing the complete flow of materials that represent a supply chain from suppliers to customers, supply chain concepts, basic terminology, and relationships among activities in the supply.

Module 2: OPMGT 5091C – MASTER PLANNING OF RESOURCES (MPR)
40 hours of instruction
Learn the principles and processes of master planning of resources. This includes the techniques and methods of demand management, sales and operations planning, and master scheduling. Also included are the development of operational plans for differing environments and the processes of validating and evaluating those plans.

Module 3: OPMGT 5092C – DETAILED SCHEDULING AND PLANNING (DSP)
40 hours of instruction
Learn inventory management, material requirements planning, capacity requirements planning, and procurement and supplier planning. Learn how detailed scheduling and planning translate product-level plans and schedules (generated at the master planning level) into requirements that can be procured or produced. This subject matter bridges the master planning area with the execution and control area of the CPIM body of knowledge.

Module 4: OPMGT 5093C – EXECUTION AND CONTROL OF OPERATIONS (ECO)
40 hours of instruction
Learn the principles, approaches, and techniques needed to schedule, control, measure, and evaluate the effectiveness of production operations. This subject material covers a broad range of production environments and discusses three phases of execution and control – setting priorities, execution, and evaluation.

Module 5: OPMGT 5094A – STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT OF RESOURCES (SMR)
40 hours of instruction
Learn about the relationships between existing and emerging systems and technologies and how they relate to the manufacturing strategy. The course explores organizational strategic goals, as well as the configuration of systems and technologies to address strategic objectives.
