Greetings New Students,

Welcome to Penn State Mont Alto! On behalf of our students, faculty, and staff let us be the first to welcome you to the Penn State Mont Alto family. We’ve designed the New Student Welcome program as an opportunity to help you get to know the Mont Alto community. We know you are as excited as we are!

If you will be living on campus, residential students move in on Sunday, January 10. You are able to move in starting at 11:00 a.m. Please report to the Housing and Food Services Office located in The Mill.

For all new students, there will be three New Student Welcome sessions held on Thursday, January 14. The sessions will be held at 9:00 a.m., Noon and 5:00 p.m. in the Heritage Room in The Mill. The session content is the same; please come to the session that best fits your schedule. You will have an opportunity to meet departmental staff and current students. You will also enjoy a free meal in The Mill during our student panel session when you can have an informative discussion with current students about what it is like to attend Penn State Mont Alto.

Classes begin Monday, January 11, and we have included some Welcome Week activities to assist you in meeting other individuals from our campus community. Scheduled activities include a game show, a New Year’s traditions program, a session about getting involved on campus, a Bingo night, and a Winterfest event complete with Penn State Mont Alto basketball, make your own scarf and gloves, caricatures, snow globe photos, indoor 9-hole mini golf, games, food, and more!

Student vehicles parked on campus must display a valid parking permit by Friday, January 15. To obtain a parking permit, visit the Police Services Office located next to the Chapel. You will need your license, vehicle registration, and PSU ID card. Housing and Food Services will be open on Sunday, January 10 from 11:00 a.m.3:30 p.m.

We congratulate you on your decision to attend Penn State Mont Alto and want to help ease your way into the college environment. It is our experience that students who participate in New Student Welcome get a complete start to their campus experience and are more successful both in and out of the classroom. We hope to meet you on Thursday, January 14! If you have any questions, you can contact me at the information listed below. Please RSVP by January 11 with your name if you plan to attend. This program is designed for new students. Adult family members are welcome.

Again, congratulations on your acceptance. We’re looking forward to meeting you!
