As a Penn State student, you are expected to take responsibility for your educational decisions, including choice of major, choice of courses, and gaining knowledge of Penn State policies and procedures. The Division of Undergraduate Studies is committed to assisting you in learning more about academic requirements and resources you will need to be successful at Penn State. Your first step is to attend an Orientation/academic advising program (for incoming first-year students) or an academic advising appointment (for transfer, reenrolling, change of campus students), where you will meet faculty and staff who can assist you in making a successful transition.

If you are a new First-Year student, you will be invited to attend a New Student Orientation day or appointment.
If you are a Transfer Student, Reenrolling, or Change of Campus student, you will be referred to an appointment with an Academic Adviser.
On behalf of the Division of Undergraduate Studies, welcome to Penn State Mont Alto!

New Student Orientation: Phase 2

New Student Orientation: Phase 2 is offered at the beginning of each semester to acquaint new students with curricular- and co-curricular opportunities, and to assist in setting directions and strategies for achieving their educational goals. Mandatory Orientation for Fall 2013 will be held on Saturday, August 24th and Sunday, August 25th (students living on campus will move in on Friday, August 23rd). Activities offered on August 24th are critical for a student’s success. New students will have an opportunity to meet and interact with returning students as well as faculty and staff. Welcome Week activities will be held Sunday, August 25th through Monday, Sept. 2nd. Students are strongly encouraged to participate in these activities as well!

The orientation program prepares new students for the academic challenges that lie ahead and enhances their success as Penn State students. Becoming acclimated to the campus and meeting other students at Orientation will ensure a positive start to your educational pursuits.
